  I am the Director of Communications for Alaska Bible College. We are a non-profit organization in Palmer, Alaska. We are absolutely appalled by the way Encore Mechanical does business. We have spent over $25,000 with Encore in the past year. Communication before, during and after each job has been frustrating. Clint is the store manager. He is overly direct, harsh, argumentative and combative with our employees who have contacted the store. 100% we suggest you find another HVAC company to do business with. We will do no future business with Encore Mechanical Incorporated. I own a rental property in Palmer Alaska, this company was aware there was a tenant in my home and I no longer live there. I have never had any tenant complaints regarding my heating system not working in the home. I called Encore to go out and do a standard service, clean, and change the filter for this coming winter. They were there 10 minutes when the technician called me and told me the last tech put in the wrong filter, it needed several hours of cleaning out, and it wasn't worth the trouble because the entire unit needed to be replaced, it was cracked. The company then called with and estimate of 2900.00 to replace my unit. I expressed my dissatisfaction to the owner and told him that even the technician didn't want to change me the 160.00 trip out because he did nothing to my unit, and it would be a waste for him to clean it because it was broken. I was willing to pay the 35.00 call service fee. The owner told me that if my unit was cracked, then it was a hazard, and basically that I was lucky they didn't cut my lines In my furnace unit. I called my home warranty company that hired another technician company... They went out! The filter was a custom fit..!!! not the wrong fit! The unit did NOT need to be replaced.!!!And all he had to do was clean it! I paid $160.00 for Encore to do absolutely nothing productive to my unit! It's an unfair charge and will be disputed! I do feel as if this company is corrupt. I advise you to not utilize them! I never will again! And I want my money back! That's just tacky business! The management of Encore Mechanical cordially worked with us on a resolution to the technician error. Upon hire of another reputable technician to service and inspect our unit, we provided Encore with a receipt and diagnosis of our heating unit. They were considerate and gave us our money back for the technician service fee they had charged us, rectifying this issue. These things happen. Thank you Encore for our refund. Encore provides fast and friendly service with great mechanics. They have very knowledgeable employees and make the process simple and easy! I highly recommend using them for any mechanical needs you may have! Give them a call- they're awesome! Only giving Encore one star because I can't choose zero stars. I hired them for two separate jobs. Hot water heater replacement and a boiler install. It took them 3 visits to repair leaks on their hot water heater work and now I've shelled out another $900 to another company to fix damage parts that finally rusted out due to the previous leaks Encore caused. It took them 4-5 visits and lots of calls from me to get the furnace fixed after it broke down about 3 months after installed (in the middle of winter). They actually tried to tell me the problem was the electrical system in my home. I had to pay an electrician to come check out the wiring and power to the house, who told me the power was fine. Then Encore reluctantly send another tech out, who finally found faulty parts on the furnace, and fixed. Encore has refused to help with any of the repair costs for damages they caused or to pay for the electrician that I was forced to hire, in order to get Encore to fix my newly installed furnace. WORST CONTRACTOR IN AK. The owner and head estimator/sales guy talk a good talk, but their field guys do not do quality work. RUN the other way!!
