The price is unbeatable for the area. Friendly and helpful staff. There was an issue with the price we booked it for and the price they gave us when we checked in, but it was resolved and they honered the price we booked at since we had our confirmation with us. The room was obviously outdated and not modernly decorated like one would get with large chain hotels, but it was VERY spacious and VERY clean. I was a housekeeper and know all the tricks and what to look for - even the picture frames had no dust on top. I'd highly recommend this hotel for a good deal and a clean and quiet place to rest. This place is run down but the beds are nice and the room we had was very big and the bathroom seems very new. The carpet needs to be replaced, asap and there was a hole in our floor. Walls are very thin. Signs here say it is for sale and the is no restaurant anymore. Front desk staff was very nice. Unfortunately, it also smells like stale cigarette smoke, even though you sign a statement saying you won't smoke in the rooms. I am not sure we would stay again but it was ok for the price and only 2 nights. The absolute worst place I have ever stayed. As soon as we walked no one was at the desk. Every time we needed something, they would out us on hold and never answer. The door to our room had been kicked in several times, the deadbolt was holding on to dear life with about 2 threads in the doorframe. The key to our room worked for a large amount of the other rooms, which was comforting for the deadbeats living right next door to us with their dog (who at one point came into our room looking for food). The bathrooms were shabby and the toilet broke on the last morning of our stay. At night, we heard yelling, banging on doors, and loud conversations. I was certain I would have seen twins on tricycles wanting to play with me if I walked into the hallway at night. Only way I would come back is if I was homeless, even then I would prefer a box on the streets. Family came up, the women wanted to stay in a hotel. Got there and it looked dilapidated on the outside, like a meth motel. They weren't happy with the place so we cancelled the reservation. Cancellation fee is the same as a one night stay, so they decided to stay one night. Come to find today, 8/30/17, that the hotel charged the full amount despite handing me a receipt showing a refund of the cancelled nights, AND on top of that, someone at the hotel took that card information and wrote a check to the order of Target, for 142$. Stay away from this place, the facility is trash, and the employees are subhuman scum. It's pretty ghetto for the most part not really the place to bring your family. The top floor with the balcony has a nice view over Palmer so it's alright on the top floor.
