Location was conveniently close to Anchorage. Facilities and "cabins" (I put this in quotes because they were closer to a nice hotel room than a simple cabin) were very clean and well maintained. Staff was very friendly and accommodating and clearly focused on meeting the needs of our group. Helicopter tour of the glacier was fantastic, with doll sheep, mountain goat and black bear sightings. WiFi was limited, but hopefully that is not why you are coming here to visit. Overall a wonderful experience and I look forward to returning! Lovely setting between the coastal range and the Talkeetna range about an hour west of Anchorage. Individual cabins are terraced on the hillside so all have a view of Lake George and the mountains beyond. The food is upscale okay. When I ask for rare steak and receive meat with no pink left, I'm less than thrilled. It was a fine cut of beef though. The staff is friendly, but not always the most effective. Our room had a queen and a twin bed, the bounciest beds I've ever seen. Some other cabins apparently have other bed configurations, some even have an added loft for additional sleeping space. Each room has a flat screen TV for playing DVDs from the large DVD library; there is no actual TV reception. Internet is available for limited hours on site, but not in the cabins. Helicopter rides to a nearby glacier with opportunities to dog sled on the glacier are available at considerable added cost. There is a primitive hiking trail. We were told moose and a small black bear frequent the area, but we did not see them. A pleasant spot and comfortable place to stay, but not really a lot to do without leaving the property. Had a great stay here last summer! When we arrived late the first evening, we found out the room hadn't been cleaned properly and the previous guest had used the same code we were given to the cabin door, so they comped one night for the inconvenience. The front desk made sure we were satisfied and enjoyed our stay. We absolutely loved the secluded drive down the road leading to the lodge as well as the helicopter ride to the glacier. Even though our full Alaska trip was 9 days and we only stayed here for 2 of those days, I really wish we would've stayed much longer now that we have experienced its majestic views. The restaurant was wonderful as well. I absolutely would recommend this place if you visit Alaska and plan to stay again in the future! The food was delicious. Prices were comparable to other high end restaurant. The views were amazing and the staff were very friendly. The only real complaint is that the tables are rather close to each other so if you are looking to have a private/intimate dining experience, this is probably not where you want to go. We will definitely be going back and will highly recommend this place to others. Great place to stay where it is remote, but still has some amenities. Not too far from Palmer where you can go for more food options. The heat wasn't working in our cabin, but they refunded us some money for the first night without heat and then supplied us with an electric space heater for the second night. All in all pretty good service. We also took advantage of the helicopter flight over the glacier which was AWESOME!
